from

silent  like  lightning

whenever i am within your aura

whenever i am around you

whenever you walk into a room where i am

— i feel your presence even before i see you —

whenever you walk by

whenever i see you face-to-face

and whenever i look into your eyes

i am paralyzed with pleasure

everything goes still

i am literally breathless

you take my breath away

i am speechless in the pleasure of your presence

the inner intensity is so compelling that i don't move

i am stoned and suspended and electrified

within your radiant dark beauty

all round you within and without

a silvery dark and sensual thundering

and a flashing

silent like lightning through the dark ocean of your body

every time i see you near

or far off across the landscape

your wild hair blowing down this valley

this writing and these feelings are born of a spirit

from a place where essence opens into vision

where something is seen and known in a glance

as when i look down upon this radiant dark intensity

and you lift up an open face to the sun

then lightning flashes silent

through the vast ocean of my soul

and something lingers kindly within the sunlit landscape of each day

sitting with you now

i am grateful for the simple gifts that come

freely received and freely given

walking day and night on sacred ground

being in this place close to you here

Thank you, David. The spirit of your words touch me deeply---your words expressing an experience of a silent moment and lightening flashing "through the vast ocean of my soul." Yes, this happens often, and "Sitting with you now, I am grateful for the simple gifts that come, freely received and freely given, walking day and night on sacred ground, being in this place close to you here." Somehow these words come to mind: Be still and know that I Am present. Your expression in this poem is so beautiful!
